Gua sha has been practiced in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. This gua sha tool was built to have a firming, lifting effect on the skin.

What it does:
In addition to improving overall health and radiance of the skin, gua sha has a multitude of benefits:

How to use:

1) Start with a clean face and prep skin with a facial oil or serum to enhance the glide of the gua sha tool and nourish the skin. We love to pair the gua sha tool with Mount Lai's natural skincare products, which are made from nourishing herbs & plants and designed to pair with our tools. Shop skincare here.

2) Keep the tool flat against the face and begin with the forehead. Scrape in an upwards motion from the eyebrows to the hairline.

3) Move to the cheeks and scrape in an outwards motion starting from the crease of the nose until the ear.

4) Move to the jawline and use the end of the gua sha tool with the two curves. Start from the chin and scrape until the ear.

5) For the under-eye area, very gently scrape the gua sha tool from the inner corner of the eye outwards to the temple.

Every gua sha tool comes with a set of detailed instructions that includes a diagram!

Shipping Policy

We offer free standard US shipping on all domestic orders over $50.

For in stock items, orders placed before 11 am EST will ship the same day. If you place an order after 11 am EST, your order will ship the following business day. Please note that orders placed after 11 am EST on Fridays will be shipped the following Monday.

Transit times provided at checkout are estimates provided by the carrier. The actual transit time may vary. Standard shipping is typically in transit for 7-10 business days, but there may be carrier delays during the holiday season.

Unfortunately once the package has shipped, we are unable to refund shipping fees as the payment has been made to the postal carrier. Shipping fees are nonrefundable and we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

International Shipping
We ship worldwide! For the UK and EU, we've partnered with Passport Shipping and they will be the Seller for all orders to the UK for orders under £135 and orders to the EU for orders €150 and under.

Pre-ordering Policy
If you place an order with a pre-ordered item, your entire order will ship together once the pre-ordered item is available.

Returns Policy
We want you to love every aspect of your Mount Lai products. If there is an issue with your order, please send a note within fourteen days of delivery to customercare@mountlai.com. Please note that returns must be in original packaging and shipping is non-refundable. If a return label is requested, return shipping costs will be deducted from the refund amount.

Gua Sha Facial Tool

Love the size and sleek look of this obsidian tool. Use it daily to help recover from Bell’s palsy. The groove is a nice shape for cheek bones. I liked its warming qualities. Really appreciated the stone properties page as it helped me choose what rock was best for my face.

Black Obsidian Gua Sha

Healing from Bell’s Palsy and this is part of my daily routine. I love the look and feel of it and the shape is perfect for jaw bone.

I absolutely love their products. They are true to description. Customer service is incredible, and shipping is quick. But overall the quality of the product is wonderful.

Quality has gone down

Really disappointed to be writing this review - I originally purchased a Mount Lai gua sha tool in March of 2023 and loved the sturdiness and shape of it in comparison to some of the other tools on the market. I unfortunately dropped it and it cracked (my fault) and I went to order another one since it had become part of my routine. Super disappointed to find that the new Mount Lai gua sha tool that I got 1 year later is thinner and feels cheaper, and doesn't provide the same experience. Disappointing to see that though the price is the same, the material you get is less. The older one is the darker one on the right in the photo.

I think this gua sha is the prettiest one I’ve seen. I am an acupuncturist, and nothing competes with any of the gua sha facial lifting tools. It’s easy to hold, glides beautifully, and the results are flawless

I broke a stone gua sha tool from another brand and decided to try the steel one from Mount Lai so I wouldn't be able to break it so easily. I LOVE it. It's cooling, smooth, and I enjoy using it so much, I'm pulling it out daily and found it so easy to add to my routine. LOVE!
